Clearing unaccompanied minor refugees:

Our clearing facility for unaccompanied minor refugees is a specialized facility that takes care of the initial reception, support and clarification of the situation of young refugees who have entered Germany without parents or guardians.

The tasks of our clearing facility are:

Accommodation and care by providing safe and age-appropriate accommodation as well as ensuring basic supplies (food, clothing, hygiene).

Initial care and stabilization of children and young people through support from educational specialists as well as psychosocial support to cope with escape experiences and trauma.

Identity and age clarification and determination of the age and identity of the young people as well as document verification and, if necessary, age verification procedures.

Health care through initial medical examination and psychological support if necessary.

Information about asylum and residence rights as well as support in submitting asylum applications.

Clarification of guardianship by appointing a legal guardian, as the children and young people are minors and have no legal guardian.

Educational and leisure activities through access to educational measures and language courses as well as leisure activities for social integration.

Clarifying perspectives, e.g. by checking whether a return to the country of origin is possible or whether long-term integration in the host country is desired.

Clarification of accommodation after the clearing phase, in residential groups, foster families or youth welfare facilities.

The aim of the clearing facility is to comprehensively clarify the individual situation of every child and young person and to develop a long-term, secure perspective.
